Towering into the skyline, the Sule Pagoda can be spotted from almost anywhere in downtown Yangon. Built during the time of Buddha more than 2,500 years ago, the temple’s location is said to have been determined by an old Burmese spirit. Legend also has it that a strand of the Buddha’s hair is enshrined within its golden walls.
