The oldest surviving church in Portugal is a blend of the Gothic, the Renaissance and the Baroque. Dating from 1070, the cathedral also houses a museum of religious art in its upper chambers. Of particular note are the 18th-century gilded organs – one with no less than 2,400 pipes – and the Chapel of the Kings, home to the tombs of the parents of Portugal’s first king.
