In its humble way, MN56 stands out as a home away from home, meeting the highest standards. Top class staff, excellent breakfast, as in really excellent. Very nice rooms, top location in terms of ”just off the middle of everything” no annoying party sounds, yet smack dab in the centre of action.

This was one of our “must dos“ in Lagos.

This was one of our “must dos“ in Lagos. We were disappointed by the way information is presented in this museum. We felt that it failed to effectively highlight the horror and pain that resulted from Portuguese colonization. For example, there is a big map that highlights “areas where Portuguese is spoken” in the world, rather than naming that these places were colonized by Portugal’s “explorers” and were sources of slave labour. It reminded us of early reconciliation efforts that lack full responsibility taking.
