IsraelI recommend this hotel! It’s brand new, super clean (which was really important to me), and just overall a great place to stay. It’s not right on the main street, but it’s only a short walk from everything and if you’ve got a scooter, it’s perfect! The girls who work at the hotel and even their taxi driver are the nicest!

ThailandWe managed to get the last room before it booked out and I’m not surprised. The location is stunning with the bar and tables backing out onto the beach, wholesome details like the hammock and book exchange make this boardwalk hotel feel like home.
But the staff were the best thing about the experience. From the minute we arrived going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable after our long transfer, swiftly sorting our rooms and offering us advice on what to do and where best to get things. Entered and customers and left as friends.
Couldn’t recommend this place more if you want a chilled place to stay in Ko Tao!

Shark Bay
While it may be tricky to get to – the dirt road is windy and steep – it’s well worth the effort to make the trek to Shark Bay. As the name suggests, it’s one of the best places in Koh Tao to see blacktip and whitetip sharks, as well as a whole host of other creatures. Just watch out for sea urchins on the seabed, as it’s quite shallow for quite a way out into the water.

Loved this beach, fine and white.
Loved this beach, fine and white. It does get busy and a bit noisy with boats towards end of the day coming in for the clear warm waters to snorkel. It was worth it though. I stayed at the Rocky Resort with a beautiful view from my balcony, where I spent hours drinking in the view and all the tropical sounds. We only stayed one night but really loved it. Attached to the resort (though I don’t think it’s officially part of it) there’s a lovely little restaurant. Shark Bay and the pier are just a few minutes away by scooter (the pier is even walkable). Compared to other hillside options, this location is definitely preferable, as you avoid steep, winding, and potentially dangerous roads. The hotel also picked us up and dropped us off at the pier, but specific times only. We could rent snorkels from the hotel for cheap. The location was perfect for us, only a short walk to shark bay.
