Medieval Galata Tower pierces the clouds above Istanbul’s skyline, a soaring sentinel to the north of the Golden Horn. A replacement for a previous tower that was destroyed in the crusades, this one was built by the Genoese in 1348. or hundreds of years, it was the tallest building in Istanbul – and its uppermost balcony still offers unrivalled city views today.

It's good that they have installed a set of lifts to get to the top of the tower. So you are not walking up too many steps. Best to get there early or towards sunset to see spectacular views with the mosques and the sea across Istanbul.Guest review byKamar - 10
