Polo has clearly built and handpicked everything in this finca with so much love and dedication. Located deep in the jungle, it offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature, with only sounds of the wildlife and a river nearby for a refreshing dip (and weirdly, the WiFi was still one of the fastest I’ve used in Colombia). The food is simply outstanding - the best I’ve had in months of traveling South America. Alvaro, the chef, mostly uses ingredients from the finca’s own farm, creating delicious, well-balanced, and creative dishes. The chocolate tour is a must—easily the best chocolate I’ve had in South America. Everything here feels real, organic, and unforgettable!

As someone who isn't in best terms with insects and boats, and as a woman travelling solo, I hesitated a lot before booking. But I'm so glad I decided to stay here in the end! Stunning location, great and friendly staff (including the dog), and well equipped eco lodge. The views were stunning and the food, delicious! Get ready cause, as mentioned by others, the boat ride can be tough. But it's totally worth it.

Quetzal Dorado Eco-Lodge by Mareygua ligt in Los Naranjos, op slechts 1,5 km van de ingang van het nationaal park Tayrona in El Zaino. Alles was perfect: leuke kamer met terras, zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, voortreffelijk eten, aangenaam zwembad (we kregen aparte handdoeken). Altijd koffie/thee en water ter beschikking.

You can see the dedication of the owner on every detail. It has everything one needs for a very comfortable stay. Premium mattress and linens, hot water, tasteful decorations and lots of small details. Yuca restaurant is a few steps away and we enjoyed great breakfast and dinners. Tayrona Park is 10 minutes walking distance.

Las Tekas is gelegen in Santa Marta, op 24 km van Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino en 27 km van Goudmuseum Santa Marta. If you're not going to stay in Tayrona National Park Colinas de Calabazo is one of the best options. The hosue is just 400 m away from the entrance to the park. Buses between Santa Marta and Palomino stops here. There are some shops (only basic products and slightly higher prices) and restaurants. The owener speaks Spanish and English, and he's a very friendly and helpful person. The house itself is located 200 m from the main road so it's calm and quite (the only noises are dogs barking at night and birds chirping in the morning). There are two or three guests rooms and the owner lives here as well. There's a small swimming pool (to cool down, not to swim) and rooftop terrace with tables and hammock - good place to rest after hiking. We got the only room on the 1st floor which was quite large and comfortable, the same with bathroom. Everytwhere was really clean. There's no kitchen available, but a breakfast is served every morning. Also, we asked for an electric kettle and we got one with two cups.

I loved how welcoming our hosts Justine & Danny were, plus they had amazing activities to offer. The kitchen area is just perfect to prepare some delicious dinner. The communal area with hammocks, couches and the pool are just perfect to relax after an adventure and the property is well maintained. Proximity to Tayrona National Park is just 10 walking minutes to the next entrance.
