The location is perfect and the Lodge is very comfortable and clean with a fabulous vista surrounded by beautiful gardens. Alli and Glyn, the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful and they provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast hamper Alli provided was very special and included her fresh homemade bread and granola, locally sourced fresh produce and her homemade treats, were delicious. The tranquil and relaxing environment of the lodge was fabulous and is near to Lake Taupo and a number of attractions in the surrounding area.I would not hesitate in recommending Hares Rest.

Right from the warm host, the stunning location, the cleanliness of the place…. Everything is outstanding !! Lovely garden, Linen , amenities, connectivity to the different attractions … it was just perfect for us! It’s ideal for families and even more fabulous for couples !! The host is fabulous and friendly, very prompt to respond to anything we needed. Her suggestions of good Italian places for dinner was spot on!
