Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

The property is in a remote part if the Northern Drakensberg. A place of exceptional beauty. It is intimate and feels like a well run family business. Service and meals and staff were excellent. Definitely a bucket list addition No internet -Awesome

Montusi Mountain Lodge offers a bar and is located 44 km from Bergville. Guests receive free Wi-Fi access, a children's playground and a swimming pool. Location was excellent .Staff were amazing .Food was excellent

Located around a privately owned lake with views of the Drakensberg mountain range, Sani Valley Nature Lodges offers secluded chalet accommodation in a tranquil setting with game viewing... We stayed 3 nights at the bushman lodge with our two daughters, age 2 and 4. In the five weeks we’ve travelled the country, this accommodation was high in our top 3. It’s remote, but it’s spacious rooms and balcony with jacuzzi, the tranquillity of nature, the views, delicious food, etc, the whole family loved it. Surrounded by greenery, the Winterton Lodge @ Rose Cottage features a splash pool. Elegantly decorated, accommodation at Winterton includes a TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. I had a fantastic stay, the lodge is very central to the surroundings, driving out to different venues daily was very easy and safe. The lodge owners and staff just super awesome, warm and kind,. Self catering units well Equipped and made it feel like home away from home.
