The attention to detail and to the comfort of he guests from the moment of arrival.
The hotel was beautiful and the bedroom was excellent with the most comfortable bed. The food was great and the chef couldn’t have been nicer. I was sorry I hadn’t booked for another day.

The tranquility of the location and the town. The family history of the Property and Ryoken - such a beautiful story.
Our dinner and breakfast host was wonderful, explaining to us each dish and answering our inquisitive questions about the ingredients, the local food and Japanese culture and traditions.
The food - amazing. The chef is a magician!
The train trip in along the coastline is wonderful.
The private onsen - fabulous! We loved it!

Exceptional service and so many little extras that made us feel wonderfully taken care of, including the very friendly and helpful explanations given in English by Anne. The onsen was absolutely beautiful (especially upper floor) and the food was great (particularly the teppanyaki prepared by Chef Ooishi). Overall excellent value for such a great experience.
