A fantastic stay in a beautiful ryokan. We loved every minute of it: the views into the sculptured garden, the spacious and beautifully designed room, the bath, the food, the hospitality. With just a few steps from the hotel, you access the Unzen jigoku geothermal fields.

The Hotel is well appointed and very classy in its own way. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and there is always service with a smile. It has the charm of a Japanese hotel but they have also added the uniqueness of European influences in that area. The dining area is classy and a combination of both Japanese and European culture including the food served.

Everything! This was the best experience we’ve had on our trip and, while costly, it was worth every cent. Everything was just perfect, the location, the intricate delicious meals, the luxurious vila, the rooftop terrace enjoying the complementary drinks overlooking the famous Unzen “Hell”… But the best was the kindness of the staff. Their genuine efforts and enthusiasm to do everything they can to make our stay memorable was really touching - a special thank you to each one of them! We warmly recommend this hotel and hope to be back soon!

Superb room with Onsen. Wonderful, kind and welcoming service. Complimentary bar and drinks in the evening (on the rooftop!) were a total bonus. Would stay again!

The dinner was fabulous. We stayed three nights in a suite. We had Western dinner, 7+ courses, the first night, Japanese kaiseki the second night, and combination of the two the third night. The chef who cooked for us all three nights really did a wonderful job! Of course, the service was exceptional, and the suite exceeded our expectation.
