This is a beautiful setting and magically relaxing experience. The rooms are all well presented and comfortable. Surprisingly large and well appointed. The grounds are well kept serene and beautifully natural. There are so many fish, bunny rabbits and other beautiful birds it is lovely to wonder and sit in peace. The food is also extremely good.

Situated in the sleepy farming village of Huai Sai in Mae Rim, Country Retreat offers bungalows and an outdoor pool.

This place is truly amazing! Ying and Pete made us feel so welcome, very warm and generous people. Ying is a great chef, she cooked the best meals of our entire trip in Thailand. It was cozy to have a beer and a chat with the other guests at Pete’s bar in the afternoon. The bungalows are very well equipped, and neat and tidy. Everything just works perfectly. There is such an amazing view over the rice fields with village and mountains behind. The pool was very nice too, it was clean and fresh and had some very nice shade areas around. We loved everything about this place, and would really recommend it to others looking for a nice place to relax with great hosts. We stayed with a 7 month old baby and had a really good experience with our stay at Pete and Ying fantastic place. We hope to return some day!

I really loved my stay at Thai Akara. Would definitely return! The location was great and very centrally located in the old town. The staff were amazing! So kind and helpful. The hotel room was just beautiful - spacious, modern, clean and excellent facilities. The hotel was so cool - very modern and stylish but with an authentic Thai design. The hotel was an oasis of quiet and calm with lush greenery surrounding the pool area.

Beautiful little hotel. We stayed on the ground floor with direct access to the pool, which we utilised on a few days to cool off. The location is wonderful, the staff is very helpful and friendly and the room was modern and comfortable. We had a slight plumbing issue but the staff attended to it immediately and diligently, so it did not sour our experience at all. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be going back one day!
