The Jam Boutique Hotel is a lovely little property in Luang Prabang that offers a truly luxurious experience at a budget-friendly price. We stayed in one of the sleek villas by the lotus pond, with a private outdoor bathtub in the lush yard. Waking up to the sights and sounds of nature every morning was such a treat. It was also the perfect spot to relax after our daily excursions in Luang Prabang. Its proximity to the night market and local restaurants makes it an excellent base for exploring the city. The staff are incredibly kind and always happy to help. We really enjoyed the free bicycles available to explore the streets of Luang Prabang. We also rented a scooter from the property for a ride to the waterfall, which was a fantastic experience. The property itself is incredibly beautiful, with a very relaxing pool that's open untill 11pm, making it perfect for a late night swim. It is beautifully appointed, has well-maintained rooms and serves up a wholesome, hearty breakfast that set us up perfectly for the day. Moreover, it’s an incredibly peaceful and quiet spot — soaking in the clear, crisp Luang Prabang air, with its clean, unpolluted atmosphere and bright blue skies, makes it even more special.

The hotel is fairly new, with spacious rooms, large and incredibly comfortable beds, and an excellent shower. The pool is amazing, and the gym and breakfast were both great as well. We initially stayed for a week and enjoyed it so much that we returned for another two nights. Although it’s about a 10/15 minute drive to the city center, getting there is super easy thanks to the free shuttle service offered several times a day, or you can book a private transfer without any hassle. We would definitely come back and highly recommend Madilao, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Everything was just spot-on.
