Probably the best and only hostel I found in Salalah and it exceeded expectations. Excellent Omani hospitality, especially from Hashem, who took care of everything. A family-run accommodation in the best way possible; warm, welcoming, and effortless. Location is perfect: just a 5-minute walk from the central market and the Mwasalat bus station to Muscat. Nearby cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs, and local spots all around. There’s a small grocery shop in the same building, and they offer car rentals if you’re heading to explore the mountains or coast. Facilities are well-maintained; fully equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms, and common areas. They have storage space if you arrive early or check out late, and super flexible with check-in timing. In short, value for money, excellent location, and true Omani hospitality. This place is an exceptional base while in Salalah. Highly recommend for anyone exploring Dhofar as an independent traveler.

The staff, especially the cleaning crew and breakfast delivery team, were exceptional. We had the chance to enjoy breakfast outside our villa on the grass, taking in the beautiful weather and stunning views.

Alila Hinu Bay was more than a resort---it was a memorable experience. Stunning architecture harmonises with the landscaping of the grounds and backdrop of the Arabian Sea to one side and mountains to the other side, creating a luxurious oasis of tranquillity. On one of the days we were visited by a caravan of camels 😊! The quality of the food was exceptional. The experience from breakfast to dinner, was enhanced by attentive and friendly staff. Special thanks to Ibrahim for making breakfast delightful, and the new manager for introducing himself to us. My husband and I also enjoyed a professionally done spa treatment that left us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Special thanks also to housekeepers Sardkarkhan and Rinos for their kind, friendly and impeccable service- never once did they frown when we asked for refills of water, coffee, tea and milk. All the staff member’s dedication to guest satisfaction made us feel truly valued. We left Alila Hinu feeling refreshed and eager to return for our next visit, which for sure will be longer. Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara is het eerste luxe villaresort in Salalah. Deze oase aan het strand ligt langs de zuidkust van het gouvernement Dhofar. The property was so beautiful! The rooms were clean and the staff were exceptional. They paid attention to all the details and went out of their way to ensure our enjoyment and comfort.

This was a nice little villa, big enough for 2 adults and 2 children for a few nights. The kitchen and bathrooms were very modern with a good working washing machine and dish washer. There were 2 sofa beds in the lounge, which meant both of our children could have a bed each (one sofa bed would not be big enough for an adult to sleep on). The area was very quiet and the villa had lovely views of the lagoon and it felt very safe. The pool was small but clean and big enough for our children to play in and they had lots of fun in there. There is a lovely licensed beach bar a 5 minute walk away called Sandyz which is worth a visit for food and drinks. They also offer horse riding and quad biking on the beach. There is also a gorgeous little marina within the Hawana Salalah area which is a short 10 min walk away. This whole area was very pretty and I would definitely recommend staying in the Hawana area rather than other hotels in Salalah as there is more on offer to do such as going for walks around the hotel grounds or to the Marina. If you are planning on booking this villa, then look up the Rotana Hotel as this is where you will be situated. You will need a car to go and visit all the sights of Salalah.
