The hotel is a tall and easily identifiable building just across the street from the Salzburg main train station. It was very clean. Rooms were a good size. The bed was comfortable. The desk personnel made check in a breeze even with a line of people waiting to register. For a short stop over it was very convenient to be near the train station and the old town just a 15 to 20 minute walk away. Many restaurants and shops just across the street.

LOCATION and PRICE POINT! There are a few hotels in old town Salzburg. Elefant is on par with the others, but at a cost point that's far cheaper. We love this hotel.

My stay at this hostel in Salzburg was a memorable experience. Lovely, spacious, clean, well-located accommodation with a wonderful and helpful host. Kitchen, and overall the house, is well equipped, beds super comfortable, and free parking in the property. Neighborhood farm (offers fresh milk and eggs), nearby Stiegl brewery, Hangar 7, and easy access to city center are clear positive attributes

Excellent location (<2min from the central train station) and about 10min from the old city quarter. Friendly staff, we got the option for an "early check-in" for 10 Euros and the room was perfectly cleaned and prepared. The rooms have are comfortable, with well distributed space and a nice modern look. The breakfast quality was adequate for the 15 Euros/person prize.
