The fenomenal experience, beautiful place and perfect location, the breakfast is not a meal it is a performance the food is the best, home made tofu was amazing, do not hesitate, if you eat the best of Kanazawa please knock at the Kurumiya door.

Absolutely loved everything about this stay in Kanazawa. The staff - Uchida San and Nakamiya San - were both so kind and helpful. We had great conversations with both of them who didn’t shy away from giving us great recommendations about local spots to see and eat at! Their warmth and the homeliness of the Machiya itself was refreshing after staying in hotels at our previous cities. The place is clean, spacious and authentic with the furnishing and tatami floors. The onset within the machiya was the cherry on top. Overall the location of the machiya is within walking distance to the main Kanazawa station which was very convenient.

It was idyllic - we felt immediately at peace after walking through the doors, the staff couldn’t have been more attentive yet not intrusive. Given there’s only 3 rooms, it was quiet and felt like you had it to yourself but there was a buzz in the evenings at dinner.

The dinner was delicious, highlight of the stay. Open air bath was great too. The staff here were wonderful and attentive, they were really helpful for us English-speakers. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had an exciting, wonderful one-night stay at this beautiful and luxury Ryokan hotel, which is situated directly on the seaside with a marvelous sight on the sea and the Japanese Alps in the background, directly from our room and from the traditional hot Onsen bath (open the whole night!). The dinner and the breakfast in your private “séparée” were extraordinary, Japanese kitchen at it’s best, and the personal of this family-run Ryokan was extremely friendly and accommodating. They have also a bus shuttle from Kagaonsen railway station, which is a stop of the new Shinkansen prolongation opened only in March 2024
