The commons room and kitchen were beautiful, social, and immaculate. There's plenty of space to keep your own food and the labeling system and respect amongst guests makes it work well. I was amazed to have such a nice room--which even included a shower and toilet-- for such a low price. I am already recommending this place to friends.

Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. お風呂が静かで、清潔で本当にいい湯でした。 また、Cabine de litも充分な広さの空間で快適に過ごせました。 共通空間の台所も居間も清潔で落ち着いた雰囲気で非常に気持ちよく過ごしました。

The location is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are super spacious and clean. The tubs on the balcony are lovely, the beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and super impressive, catering to both Japanese and Western cuisine with the most incredible wide selection I've seen. Dinner was absolutely fantastic, with both the courses and the seafood buffet being exceptional. Among all the hotels I've stayed at, this place has the friendliest staff, catering to your every need. They offer a free shuttle bus to Gora Station as well as free ice cream from the vending machines. They have two onsen: one with an infinity pool and a fantastic view, and a garden one with a beautiful waterfall. I cannot recommend this place enough; we had the most fantastic stay ever.
