We were fortunate to be there when they had a fireworks display on the beach which was awesome.There is also a washing machine and dryer for 500yen which really helped having a family of 5. If you are looking for a traditional stay and a truly memorable experience this is it.

Really enjoyed staying at Ushiogumo: The facilities are brand-new and impeccable, amazing staff (!!), beautiful location that's close to scenic landscapes. The Kaiseki Ryori dinner was excellent, breakfast was great too! Each room has a private bath on the balcony. There's lots of amenities in the room. Plus, the hotel onsen is made available for private use from 6pm. It's a small property (I counted 7 rooms) and thus feels very cozy. The road in front of the hotel did not really bother us. The terrace windows are well-isolated to block out any noise and there's also the calming sound from the balcony onsen. Extra points for the super-friendly staff!!! ...who can also converse in English so it's no problem for foreign tourists.
