La Chonta is an incredibly special place. It is such a beautiful space immersed in nature. We saw Toucans, parrots and so many other birds from the balcony. It was nice staying a bit out of town in nature. There is so much to do around Mindo, I wish we had more time. When we arrived, Andres was our host, but leaving as a friend. He joined us on morning walks, showed us great places to eat, and we shared many stories along the way. Thank you for everything and we cannot wait to come back. I recommend La Chonta as one of the best places we have stayed anywhere. Don't think, just book.

The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. The lodge is well-maintained, offering scenic views, peaceful sounds, and incredibly nice people. My partner and I stayed here for five days following a trekking holiday to relax and reconnect, and it was exactly what we needed. The staff was not only caring but also attentive, genuinely listening to our feedback and making small changes daily to enhance our experience. We had an amazing time.

Such a fantastic taste of paradise. Everything at subtropica is done with love and skill. The breakfasts are superb, the pool is crystal clean and perfect temperature, the grounds are gorgeous with healthy beautiful plants growing everywhere. Everything! We loved everything about it! So elegant, private, well equipped, lovely design right in town but by the countryside. Ronnie was great as a host and we simply loved it. The owners have created a lovely space and great suites within it.

We read that the service was great before coming and they still managed to surprise us in happy ways. We felt very well taken care of, they even got us bug spray when we had foolishly left ours at home. The meals were delicious and the staff was very accommodating. The setting naturally brings in such variety of birds we felt like we were on a perpetual bird tour just from our villa and eating meals on the patio.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and served a really nice breakfast. The room, our own terrace, but also the hotel garden were all beautiful. The bathroom was very big and clean and had a nice jacuzzi. We will come back here for sure.
