We always make a point of visiting The Cairn whenever we are in Scotland. The hospitality is absolutely amazing, especially the wonderful cooked Scottish breakfast. The owner is a brilliant host who is always warm hearted and friendly. We cannot recommend The Cairn enough.

The Highland getaway was amazing..very much 5 star.. had things we didn't think we needed! The attention to detail was above and beyond. Even dressing gowns and slippers. Beds were super comfy. Shower was powerfully and hot. And cooking facility was spot on. The kids loved the freedom of the park with forest walks across the road. And steam train within 5 mins walk.. no WiFi was not a problem for us. But there was no connection.

    The room was in a separate building. They are converted from a house so individual, quiet, small and clean. Nothing overly special about them. Off street parking is available. I had to leave early so staff were good at providing an uncooked breakfast at 7.30am, just when service started. Nice area for walking and access to the Cairngorms.

    Owner of the hotel is a very passionate and kind man. Tell him your travel plans and he will have great tips for your stays. Recommended us multiple beautiful locations. Comfortable beds, bath / shower, good TV, overall a great room. Free parking. Wee pub and great restaurant are part of the hotel. Would highly recommend!

    Quaint hotel mixing the old with the new. Car parking immediately behind hotel. Really friendly and efficient team. Excellent breakfast with quality local produce Good range of food in bar menu to suit most tastes. Comfortable mattress. White bed linen. Water, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Good lighting in bedroom.
