We needed to spend a first night in Iceland on our way to the East and chose this place for its affordability (we stayed in the pods) and good location. We were not disappointed. Staff was extremely friendly and flexible. We hiked a bit in the vicinity (troll walk, waterfall) before an excellent dinner - we recommend the "duo" menus. Sleep was comfortable enough in the pods - they are small but cosy and warm. Luck was on our side with some northern lights that night.

Impressive views of Troll Waterfalls and an extensive vinyl collection of over 3000 records are notable features of Fossatún Country Hotel.

The breakfast was the best we had in Iceland. Rooms were cozy and the troll garden next to the small waterfall was cute. They offer dinner, which had all typical dishes.
