We came straight here after landing in Columbo. We loved the room. It was spacious, clean, and had very good air con. Th bed was massive and very comfortable. We had a lovely view of the garden/farm from our private outside seating area. The older couple who live on site cooked us an amazing traditional Sri Lankan curry - it was delicious and was only 2,400LKR for both of us. Viraj was super helpful and gave us a lift to the hotel a few mins up the road where we were allowed to use the pool (for free) and where we had breakfast overlooking the river. The breakfast is a huge buffet with traditional sri lankan options, continental style foods, as well as waffles and pancakes cooked freshly. This cost us extra (5000LKR for 2 people), however it was worth it as the elephants from the nearby Pinnawala Orphanage come to the river to wash and bathe, and you can see them whilst you eat breakfast - it was amazing!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The views have to be experienced in person. Lovely staff that goes above and beyond to meet your needs. They arranged a cooking class for us during our stay which was lovely. Will definitely come back in the future.

What an amazing place! Everything was superb. From the incredible staff who anticipated my every need, to the delicious food and the variety of activities in the area. From reception to our bedroom was a worm welcome. Shalika and her colleagues were beyond our expectations. She even upgraded our bedroom to a river view bedroom with an open balcony, which was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were excellent . Delicious food we all enjoyed with happy faces. We also enjoyed looking at elephants and their bath . My son was overwhelmed by seeing elephants in real life. Overall, we highly recommend Pinnalanda Grand Hotel is the best place to stay for a vacation and elephant bath view.
