Max and his wife are just great hosts, very helpful in every way. The location is great, you are really right on the beach, which is absolutely not busy, for days you don't see any tourist ever. Along with that comes that there is no restaurant nearby, but Max might lend you his bycicle, and in 5 minutes you are there. You can also ask Max, they cook for you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel, The Cottage Negombo, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone seeking a relaxing and scenic getaway. The location itself is breathtaking, with the property nestled along the Hamilton Canal. The cottages are absolutely delightful—cozy, clean, and beautifully designed. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Whether you’re staying for a few days or longer, these cottages offer the perfect balance of comfort and charm. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the kayak ride on the Hamilton Canal. The hotel offers kayaks for guests, and it was an amazing way to explore the tranquil waters. The staff were friendly and provided all the necessary instructions, making it easy for us to get out on the water and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, there are boat tours available, which offer a more leisurely way to take in the views of the lake and surrounding nature. Both options were incredible ways to experience the area up close. I’ll definitely be returning for another visit!

We really enjoyed the company of the hosts Sonja and Bernard. They made excellent food and helped us out whenever we needed it. A great place to start your trip in Sri Lanka. The pool was well needed in the sun, and the birds and flying foxes at night made for exceptional entertainment. We loved the ro oms and the beds were very comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here!

Phenomenal hotel to start our holiday in Sri Lanka. The hotel is very small (5 rooms only) and every room has its own pool. We stayed in the peacock villa which is the largest I think. More than enough room for our family of 4. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The floating breakfast option was so nice, definitely recommend that!

This was our first stay after flying into Negombo. Sharmilla & Sampath are very welcoming and gave us great tips for the rest of our journey. We wanted to take a bus to Sigiriya, and they made sure we took the right one. Thanks again for your note, that was very helpful! The area is quiet and their house is really nice. Good starting point if you are new to Sri Lanka, but definitely also fine for more then one night if you plan to look around the Area.

What a place to acclimatise from the UK into the Sri Lankan weather and pace of life. We stayed for two nights. From the very much appreciated complimentary pickup from the airport, to the happy friendly team lead by Nishantha Fernando delicious fresh and tasty Sri Lankan and European choices all cooked and seasoned beautifully. The gardens are kept immaculately and are beautiful for an early morning wander watching the birds, we enjoyed the pool which was a perfect temperature, I would not hesitate to recommend that you stay here.i believe that this villa has only come on to the hotel market but as the staff are all experienced we encountered no problems at all. Don’t hesitate if you’re wondering about booking as I am pleased I booked.

The lady was very nice and welcoming, as I was facing some issues in my travel, she tried to help. The dinner was also incredibly good, healthy and tasty. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet. Bed is very comfortable. I had a very good time there.
