Beautiful location, wonderful and very friendly host, very comfortable room and even homemade brownies to die for. We were doing a hike and those brownies plus a great provided breakfast really got us through. Everything was lovely. Thank you!

We could see the cows in the paddock when we arrived and even from the lounge area and some of the bedroom windows. The area is also quaint and quiet with great sunset views. The place has everything you need for a short stay and a short drive from Hobbiton and the Blue Springs.

A luxurious property on the outskirts of Matamata and close proximity to Hobbiton. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Tony and Miriam were very friendly, gracious hosts. We really enjoyed use of their hot tub and all the small touches were really appreciated.

It was immaculate and beautiful! Such a cosy and welcoming space, with a lovely addition of breakfast! Linda welcomed us and we had a lovely chat, she introduced us to some of her family and gave some advice to stop at Kiwi House, which we did (and saw a Kiwi!). The bed was comfortable, especially once we switched on the heated blankets. Overall 10/10, we almost wish we stayed an extra night!

    Perfect for our overnight stay to visit Hobbiton - wish we could have stayed another night. Great location, off street parking, nice and quiet. Friendly greeting, easy check in. Our room was spacious, warm, comfortable, modern and clean. Loved that it had 2 armchairs too. Enjoyed our stay at Matamata, a really lovely place. Highly recommended!

    There are 3 rooms and the room space is fine for us. The apartment is very beautiful. All the things we need are enough including the kitchen. The location is convenient as near the town and supermarket. The car parking is also very convenient. We enjoy to stay here very much.

    Hosts graciously allowed us to check in a little earlier than specified which was most appreciated. We never met the hosts but the checking information was well communicated. The whole property is divided by well maintained and cured gardens defining each unit. Our accommodation had a comfortable private outdoor area and allocated off street parking space. The interior decor may surprise and feel a little OTT but lots of effort obviously went into setting it all up, giving the place a unique look.

    The unit is very well equipped with everything you could want, and everything is of very good quality. There was even your own washing machine, and washing powder provided. Very clean, nicely decorated, good beds, heating, nice bathroom. Perfect little unit. Free dedicated car parking space directly by the unit. Great location for going to Hobbiton. Would definitely use again.
