A Great find. The lady who was at reception, befittingly named Lady. (Apologise for my spelling if different) is an absolute delight. A gem who organised an understandable map, the bus schedule and where to catch for every which way, and all the out of the ordinary extras too. I had a big problem with my cell phone comms where she most kindly helped me out.

Very smart hotel with the friendliest of staff who couldn't do enough for you. Oihane, the concierge, was so helpful finding restaurants (which were excellent), other things to do and must see places. The reception and bar are stunningly beautiful reflecting the building's history. All the reception staff were happy, friendly and exceptionally helpful. Alba was particularly outstanding. The hotel bar is well stocked and great value. There are some cocktails on the menu but the barmen were all able to make the cocktails we asked for even if they were not on the list. The rooms were spotless, well appointed, well insulated for sound and extremely comfortable.

Hotel Flysch is located in Zumaia, 22 km from San Sebastián and 49 km from Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. The hotel surprised me as it is listed at a 2-star hotel but in fact felt rather high end. There is an art theme across the rooms and common areas, which is very stylish. The personnel were really kind - at the reception and the breakfast. The breakfast is not super abundant but is sufficient and adequate. Anything more would have been a high risk of food waste. The location is excellent to go for a walk to the flysch and the geopark. Also close to the local pintxo bars/tavernas. Our room had a terrace with a view towards the sea, the lavish green hills and the flysch. I loved sitting there. A kettle with some tea in the room could have been a nice addition. But there was a fridge supplied with some water and beer, which was lovely for the sunny hours.
