Just a short walk from La Cotinière village, guests of the Hotel Île De Lumière can visit the fishing port. Free private parking is also available at the hotel. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

This place is astonishly good! Really cute rooms, beautifully decorated - with a bohemian, creative vibe! The lovely hosts showed us around their property and explained that we had use of lots of communal living spaces too. Breakfast was incredible... lots of delicious home made stuff (breads, waffles, jams, yoghurts, etc). The photos don't do this place justice!

Wonderful rooms furnished with style, extremely helpful and nice hosts, beautiful garden, jacuzzi and a cute cat. What else do you need for a perfect holiday? We only stayed one night but I could imagine a whole summer in these settings.

Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the garden and inner courtyard. The hosts are lovely and eager to please, but they area also relatively new to hosting guests as well as relatively new to France. They kindly brought tea to my room in the evening, and a lovely continental breakfast in the morning.

Guests can enjoy French and Pizza dishes at the restaurant or have a cocktail at the bar. Lovely clean room and friendly staff. They were very welcoming and kind. Good breakfast. Perfect place for a lone traveller to explore the area.

Near many of the famous Chateaux of the Loire Valley for easy day trips.
