I travel a lot for work and stay in loads of hotels and apartments, mainly booked on Booking.com and Airbnb. Most are OK, some not great, but few are truly exceptional. The Sail Lofts are firmly in the exceptional category. The accommodation was excellent - comfortable and smartly furnished, the location was outstanding, the breakfast provided (in advance) was the best I've ever seen, and the stay was great value for money. Truly a (very rare) 10/10 for me, by far and away the best spot in Douglas that I've stayed - and there have been many!

I originally booked a courtyard room but decided to upgrade to a sea view room, we got one on the 2nd floor. We were greeted by the reception staff who told us about a few things like where the restaurant was. On entering our room I was very surprised by the size, it had double aspect windows one to a courtyard the other to a panoramic view of Douglas bay. The room itself was of superior quality, mood lighting to bedroom and bathroom, a sofa in the window, 2 armchairs facing the TV. Complimentary soft drinks, crisps and chocolate in the fridge, even a corkscrew next to the kettle. There was even 2 dressing gowns and slippers in the wardrobe. The breakfast was included as was cereals and continental breakfast and full hot breakfasts. You can also book an evening meal in their restaurant and they have a bar for drinks. Excellent friendly service from all the staff too. Brilliant location also close to shops, bars and restaurants. Will definitely be booking here again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Carrick Rooms are a real gem, and we will most definitely be retuning soon. This place is the most airy, spacious, immaculately clean and modern accommodation that we have ever stayed at on the island. The hosts could not be more accommodating, nothing is too much trouble, and they really do go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is perfect in every way. A delicious continental breakfast is served in Roots cafe below each morning. The breads, pastries and cheeses are all local produce and the coffee is fantastic too, Thank you for making our stay the BEST that we have ever had on the island, you guys are simply fantastic! Our ancestors used to own this hotel, so we were keen to see it for ourselves. Not disappointed - gorgeous location next to a dramatic rocky shore. Very comfortable room overlooking the beach; a convivial woody bar; good food/beer and very pleasant and helpful staff. Top notch and very proud to finally see the place !!
