Best thing was the no shoes policy - it was very nice and comfy to walk around in barefoot or in socks. Pajamas very also comfy and made the whole exprience very homely. The room and entire hotel had nice decorations which was nice. Typically Japanese hotels tend to be quite plain. Visited 7 different hotels during my stay in Japan and this was by far the best one.

Guests at Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan stay in rooms with shoji paper screens and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a TV and slippers. The room was very nice, super cosy and quiet. The futons were exquisite. The people working on the Ryokan were adorable. I honestly have nothing bad to say about our stay here. Also, the location is just perfect. To be that close to Zenkōji temple, especially at night when the street is empty... Best time I've had so far !

There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. Hakuba Third Place Lodge is one of my favourite places I’ve stayed. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Everything was spotless, and the private bath was beautifully designed and so relaxing after a day on the slopes. Akira and his team were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient, always making sure we had everything we needed. The included breakfast was absolutely delicious. The location is ideal—just minutes from the ski slopes and close to lovely bars and restaurants. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Akira and the team.

Easy to check in. Rooms were very nice. Pictures don't do the place justice. Complementary amenities and even drinks. Very comfortable stay.

The accommodation features a shared kitchen, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. * Superb view from the common area * tatami mat with normal bed * DIY breakfast with provided bread/eggs/jam was fantastic * Rooms were warm and had enough space for luggage * complimentary ride to the ski slopes + they even offered a ride with our luggage to our following accommodation in Nozawa (would have preferred to stay here if they had availability)

16 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area in Hakuba, 白馬の黒馬　DarkHorse @Hakuba offers accommodation with access to a hot tub and spa facilities. Among the various facilities are a garden, a bar, as well as a shared lounge. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge for guests. Great house. Clean, very functional, and cozy. Parking was easy. Excellent communication with the owner and check-in was hassle-free.

Ties Camp Ground Nagiso features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Nagiso, 7.3 km from Kotoku-ji Temple. The property is around 7.3 km from Sekibutsu Kanzan Jittoku Statue, 8.7 km from Otsumago and 15 km from Magome Observatory. Magome Wakihonjin Museum is 15 km away and Toson Memorial Museum is 16 km from the luxury tent. As everything in Japan, it was all perfectly organized and the staff was super kind. We had a great experience there, the place is wonderful, the quietness and the unexpected foot bath (onsen) was amazing. Food was also great, everything well explained and with all the support needed.

Situated in Karuizawa, 20 km from Honmachi Machiyakan, Eau Sol Vert Karuizawa Club features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. The property is around 29 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, 13 km from Karuizawa Station and 8.4 km from Karuizawamachi Botanical Garden. The hotel has a sauna, a concierge service and free WiFi. Our room was very large, new and had all the right facilities, kitchen etc. I really liked the onsen of the hotel, and the breakfast was excellent. Snooker table was a cool addition. Staff was super kind and helpful. 15 min. drive from a ski park, 20 min. from Karuizawa city center.
