Everything was top notch, modern and clean, but still very relaxed and with a feeling of privacy. The food was great aswell. And tattoos is not a problem here, no need to hide them. Rent a car and explore the beautiful island. Would love to come back!

The air-conditioned accommodation is 16 km from Yaeyama Museum. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and a shared lounge for guests. The owners are the nicest people ever, they helped us with car rental issues, with booking programs, recommended nice places to visit and suggested the best local restaurant, called Hama! The place is wonderful, brand new, super clean, perfectly equipped, comfy beds, nice kitchen and an awesome rooftop terrace. You need a car in Ishigaki anyways, so the location with car is perfect, away from the touristy city in a quiet lovely area, few minutes drive from Kabira bay and the secluded beaches! A well maintained garden with patio, sea shell decorations and a passion fruit tree:) Absolutely recommend the place!

I love the atmosphere here and how helpful the owner was. It was 8 min to the centre of town so the location was wonderful!

We chose to stay here for 2 weeks while working remotely and had an absolutely wonderful stay at Andy & Haruko’s property. Guest House Ishigaki is a beautiful, extremely clean, and well-designed house equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The Farmer’s Market and tons of great shops and restaurants are a stone’s throw away, as well as the ferry to other nearby islands. We really appreciated Andy & Haruko’s attention to sustainability throughout, and their thoughtful touches, like the cold jasmine tea in the fridge at all times to cool down from the heat. We had let them know in advance that we would be working remotely and they even created a desk space for us in our room. And the beds were SO comfortable - we had the best sleeps here of our 2 months in Japan. Though the location and amenities were amazing, the best part about our stay was undoubtedly the people; Andy, Haruko and Yuichiro are some of the loveliest people who genuinely care about their guests. We could not have wished for anything more!

Bright room with all the amenities, amazing view from the outside terrace over the green hills and the blue sea. Short walk to the fantastic Hoshizuna beach. Owners helped us a lot to organize our stay on the island. Hope to come again!

Situated in Iriomote and only 24 km from Ojima Road Park, Shimaotoya features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. 49 km from Kanpira waterfall, the guest house provides free bikes and a garden. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. The hostel owner was so kind and helpful with our trip to Iriomote. She went above and beyond by picking us up from the ferry port and helping with recommendations. The room is simple, island accommodation but the shared common room is very nice with instruments and books. Kitchen was nice to use to make some food if we wanted. Extra fuzzy blankets free to use if you got cold in the night. Check out the stars at night! Also, FREE bike rental. What more could you want? Definitely check out the Co-op store down the street; delicious fresh food after 11am try the taco rice!!! We really loved Iriomote it was so peaceful and special. Our favorite island. Do visit and this hostel will serve you right!!
