His friend drove me around for a half day tour and then we met up later with some other guests. It was a very memorable experience. If you have the chance take it. I've been to Battambang few times and stayed in different places, but this is my favorite one so far. Even though I rarely sacrifice my comfort, this place (with it's Khmer style bath tub:) is totally worth it. It's very well taken care of, everything is very clean, bedsheets, towels, curtains are always extremely fresh. It's surrounded by the lavish garden and is very peaceful and relaxing. Also, the owner and the whole family are very polite and helpful.

Free parking is provided. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I am a solo traveler and when I reserve a table at a restaurant, I usually get a small table in the back. Not at Maisons Wat Kor! The staff had prepared one of the most beautiful tables at the restaurant for me. The table had an amazing view over the water. I truly appreciate the effort they made. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Furthermore, I loved the salt water pool. The temperature of the water was perfect, not too cold. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a traditional Khmer style. The hotel feels authentic. Finally, I booked a massage and it was one of the best massages I ever had. Simply amazing!

The hosts were incredibly welcoming, always ready with a smile, and eager to share stories about the local culture and way of life. The room was simple but clean and comfortable, with a fan and mosquito net provided. What made this stay special was the authenticity. Every morning, I woke up to the sound of birds and the smell of homemade Khmer breakfast – delicious and made with fresh ingredients from the garden. I had the chance to help cook dinner one evening, which turned into an unforgettable cultural exchange. The homestay is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the hosts were kind enough to lend me a bicycle to explore the nearby villages, temples, and rice fields. It was peaceful, scenic, and gave me a real glimpse into rural Cambodian life. If you’re looking for a genuine, heartwarming experience beyond the usual tourist spots, I can’t recommend this homestay enough. It’s perfect for travelers who want to slow down and connect with locals in a meaningful way.

I had a very nice stay at the Bar Ang guesthouse, the owners were very welcoming, took me out for breakfast as they don't prepare it there, and I also did the countryside tour with them, which was a great insight into a local life and beautiful views. The room was clean and spacious enough, and as there were no other guests at the time, I had a private bathroom with no need to share it.
