Rivendell twisted tree What an incredibly beautiful place this is. When I arrived I could barely exit the taxi, as I was feeling incredibly sick. The chef supported me while I walked towards a chair. During our stay I needed to rest and stay in bed. Everyday the owner of the residence called to check up on me and offered me a dokter. It felt like he genuinely cared. So did the other staff members who were super attentive and made sure I didn’t lack anything. I can’t highlight it enough, the surroundings here are amazing. The perfect place to relax in the nature while being looked after by great staff.

We visited silver hill Ecovillage for 2 nights to relax before driving back to Negombo and fly out of the country. It was a great idea for relaxation and organising ourselves. The place is truly the last house on the hill and it is peaceful and full of vegetation. There is a small pool with natural water which is nice to cool yourself down, I loved the hammocks in the kitchen area with the amazing view where I read my book. If you decided to go please pet Lassi, the cutest dog ever. She’s nice and playful and made us smile many times😀 Just a note about the road going there - be mindful that the road closer to the hotel is not paved and a bit rocky but we managed to cross it with our Tuktuk.

Amazing place in amazing location with amazing owners! I loved it from the very beginning. I usually travel with public transportation and Nadie helped me to get to their place from the main nearby town and later gave me a ride back. She also was very helpful with organizing for me a transport to main sights in the area - Arankele Forest Monastery and Ridi Viharaya (I had a scooter but it was also possible to go with a tuk tuk driver). Breakfast and dinner were made at home and they were delicious and the portions were big enough. I also had some fresh fruit juices and fruits, it was amazing! There is also a nice swimming pool with trees and bushes around. It’s so beautiful 😍 Important to note that there is almost no internet connection there, I don’t find it as a disadvantage but if you want to work online from there, that might be impossible. However, if you want to relax, go offline and enjoy the nature as me - that’s the best place to go! Thank you Nadie for taking such a great care of me! I will definitely be back! 🥰

The kids loved that and the lounge area with space to play games. Lovely view of rice paddy from garden too. Good communication with owner and friendly helpful staff who let us in and got us settled. Great value for money as we had the whole villa. Good parking area too. Access to kitchen if wanted to make your own food.

Paddy View Garden Resort ligt in Narammala, op 18 km van Alawwa, en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, gratis privéparkeren, een tuin en een terras. Het personeel was ontzettend aardig en behulpzaam. We vroegen om het eten niet pittig te maken ivm onze 2 kleine kinderen. Het eten was heerlijk en niet pittig.

Lotus cool hotel and restaurant is gelegen in Ibbagomuwa, op 50 km van Kandy Royal Botanic Gardens, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Very nice hotel! It has only 3 rooms (quite basic, but bed is comfortable to sleep), but territory is big and beautiful. Located next to a big lake, and you can take a kayak to ride. Manager Chandana is so friendly and helpful, he recommended to visit an awesome restaurant (Rasta Family Restaurant). Included breakfast is delicious and abundant. Plenty of parking space. No any sound of road, just nature. Very peaceful!

Summer Will Resort is gelegen op 26 km van Galgamuwa en 33 km van Kekirawa Railway Station, en biedt kamers in Moragollagama. Het bed was prima. Maar geen dekens. Alleen 1 lakentje. De gastheer was erg vriendelijk, maakte laat in de avond nog een maaltijd klaar.

Coco Eco Lodge bevindt zich in Melsiripura en biedt een tuin en een restaurant. Deze lodge heeft gratis privéparkeren, roomservice en gratis WiFi. Autoverhuur is beschikbaar bij de lodge. Off the beaten track. Hier ervaar je het echte Sri Lanka zonder de toeristen. Een leuk gastenverblijf met mooie schone badkamer en houten veranda met uitzicht op de tuin. Het huisje staat achter de woning ( genoeg privacy) van de eigenaren Waji en zijn vrouw Nimesha. Schatten van mensen die goed engels spreken en er alles aan doen om het je naar de zin te maken. Ze maakten voor ons (op verzoek) een superlekkere vegetarische maaltijd met grote frisse salade. De omgeving is prachtig om te wandelen. Iedereen groet en lacht. Waji is ook nog eens een hele goede gids die ontzettend veel weet en van alles voor je kan regelen en laten zien. Het is echt super, ga hier heen!
