The room was spacious, elegantly designed and had a wonderful view out to sea (we were in a Grand Deluxe close to reception, so the relative height at the top of a hill offered a great vantage point). Breakfast was outstanding with tonnes of vegetarian (and gluten-free) options, which was wonderful as so many Thai breakfasts tend to be so meat-heavy - this was a welcome break. The staff were courteous and friendly without exception, and the a/c in the room managed to keep the room cool despite the humidity outside. Visiting in low season was superb value, and honestly with just a few minutes of rain on one of our three day stay, a June visit is really a no-brainer, especially as nearby Khaolak is so quiet and crowd-free during this time. Walking around the resort is a pleasure - if you're lazy and don't consider walking in lush vegetation to be enjoyable, then go stay somewhere flat.

I had breakfast at the Waterfront restaurant for the duration of my stay and it was first class service. Khun Pooh helped me feel very comfortable whilst traveling alone to the resort, all the staff knew my name and showed me around the buffet and the food was so fresh and locally grown so the vegetables had extra taste and there were many healthy options available, the fresh juices were equisite.

The whole experience at Khao Lak Marriott was wonderful from the moment of arrival, parking our car, assistance with our bags, and an easy check-in. An electric buggy whisked us to our room, which was delightful, immaculately clean, with comfortable beds and bedding. The sandy beach was clean, overlooking the quiet and inviting Andaman Sea, plus the choice of resort pools allowed for some serious or playful swimming. All resort staff were exceptional, helpful, knowledgeable, and always with a warm greeting and a smile. Good buffet breakfast included in the price and wide food choice otherwise available all day at the resort. Thank you, Marriott, for a lovely stay.

Namm Nathawn is part of the sustainable tourism network of Koh Yao Noi, one of the oldest experience in Thailand of community based sustainable tourism, 20 years old. Namm Nathawn is not on the coast line, but inland, in the middle of paddy fields and it really gives a flavour of Thai countryside life. The best bungalows found so far in Thai islands! Very simple and basic, no AC no hot water, but very well built with a super comfy bed and a nice lay out with a porch facing the paddy fields with plenty of grazing buffalos. The bungalows and restaurant are very clean, the food is really nice. The ladies managing the resort are really nice and helpful. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed, great chill out and disconnection.
