Otto and his family showed us the highest degree of kindness and hospitality! Otto greeted us and gave us a tour of his bucolic property, replete with flowers, animals, and trails! His home is huge with a very forest lodge feel. His parents were super kind and his mom made us an amazing breakfast! We loved our stay here and give it our highest recommendation!

The food was delicious, the room was spacious, it was very pet friendly and they accommodated us last minute. The waterfall hike starting from the hotel grounds is a must do!

Nawal is situated in Lanquín, 3 km from Semuc Champey, and has a restaurant, a garden and a bar. A tour desk can provide information on the area. Really lovely place close to Semuc Champey. Food is good and affordable and the staff is really helpful and kind. They were really helpful to get me transport options to Xela and even woke up at 5AM to make sure I'd catch the bus to Coban.

The shower is great with strong pressure and very hot water. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with several made-to-order options from pancakes to a full Guatemalan desayuno. Finally, the staff was very nice and accommodating, even sending us on our journey with some extra water bottles.
