Everything was so clean. The terrace was a lovely place to sit and talk with other travellers. Recommend San Juan if you don’t want the chaos of Pana or the party backpacker scene of San Pedro. A charming town on Lake Atitlan.

We have nothing but amazing things to say! From the minute we arrived we were made to feel like part of this beautifully run family business. We had a stunning glamping pod which had a view of the lake and the volcanoes which you just never got tired of with its ever changing colours with the weather and time of day! Who needs a TV with that kind of view! The food was unbelievably good we ate breakfast which was included but also dinner which was cooked by the owner Johan. He also makes a very delicious rum based old fashioned which was the perfect night cap! Gabi his wife is the most welcoming person whose laugh is infectious. She was so kind and generous with her time and local suggestions which were all wonderful. She also booked our bus tickets online in Spanish when I couldn’t do it! We have never been so well looked after. El Picnic should be your only choice in stunning Lake Atitlan.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and located at the edge of Lake Atitlán, Hotel Toliman is set in San Lucas Tolimán in the Solola Region, 45 km from Antigua Guatemala. This is a gem. One of our favorite places to stay over 4 months travel to Central America. The location is amazing, in a small town that sees very little tourism, at the foot of Attilan volcano and right on the lake. The grounds are gorgeous, with a lovely pool and fantastic organic garden and plenty of hammocks. The restaurant is fabulous, we loved everything we ate, from the well served breakfasts to tasty and fresh salads, soups and fish, with almost everything sourced in their own organic garden. The staff are all kind and helpful and very well trained (the waiters also double as guides for the hikes which is nice). There seems to be real pride in working here.

Atitlan Sunset Lodge Apartments are located on the shores of Lake Atitlan in Santa Cruz La Laguna and boast excellent volcano views. Free Wi-Fi and kayak use are provided at this property. All of it, amazing view above all.

Hotel Atitlan, located in front of Lake Atitlán, is a rustic-style property offering extensive gardens and panoramic views of Atitlan Lake. It has an outdoor pool, hot tub, and a botanical garden. A beautiful and breathtaking property with immaculately manicured grounds and a wonderful view, I had such a lovely stay. The staff are great, the rooms are fantastic and the food at the restaurant is 10/10. In my opinion, great value for money considering you are staying at one of the best hotels on the lake. Lots of intricate touches and love the history of the grounds. There’s also amazing wildlife onsite! Would recommend to all and would definitely stay again.
