My girlfriend was sick and he gave us medicine, free homemade bread from her mother and fruits for us to recover. He invited us for dinner with his lovely family and even prepared breakfast with fresh local avocado and his own homemade coffee. The atmosphere in the house is amazingly peaceful with relaxing music playing all day round. It really felt like we were part of his family and that we were more than just customers! We are definitely going back there to have our little family reunion.

Great shower with hot water.They cooked up an excellent dinner and watered me with local sugarcane brew which needs to be tried..good breakfast. No hesitation in recommending this accomodation.

The hosts Neo and Walde were friendly while also giving us plenty of privacy. We enjoyed talking with Neo and learning more about his work with local people while helping the environment. Walde is a great cook, all the meals were excellent and served in the most idyllic location. The outdoor bathroom is also very cool. We loved every moment of our stay.

The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

What a beautiful home - we loved waking up to the ocean and being able to cook our own meals. The kitchen is new and well-stocked. There are lots of lovely little sitting spots and the beds are really comfy. The beach out front is magnificent for rote - great for swimming and snorkelling. We’ll be back!

We spent Christmas in this wonderful homestay, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place! Fluffy, Theresa, and Andrea welcomed us like family – with warmth and kindness. Thanks to them, we truly felt the Christmas spirit, even though we were far from home. Unfortunately, I arrived in Ruteng feeling unwell, but the care we received from our hosts was simply incredible. Theresa took care of us like a real mother – preparing light meals, making sure we had everything we needed, and checking on us to help us recover quickly. Andrea and Fluffy were also very helpful and kind. This homestay is not just a place to sleep – it’s a home filled with warmth and care. We are deeply grateful for their hospitality and hope to return someday! If you’re looking for a place with soul and wonderful hosts, this is where you should stay. Later they recommended a homestay run by Fluffy's cousin in Labuan Bajo 😊
