Lea, the owner, went above and beyond to make our experience special, inviting us to her nearby restaurant where we enjoyed a welcome drink and some of the most delicious food, including local dishes she thoughtfully prepared non-spicy for us while keeping the authentic flavors intact. It's a wonderful family-run business—Lea’s mom also took us on two fantastic tours of the national park, showing us all the incredible wildlife with so much care and patience. Lea’s dedication to ensuring her guests have the best possible experience is truly inspiring, and we highly recommend staying here!

We loved staying here. The view from our room was beautiful and every morning we tried a new local breakfast dish. But it’s not for everyone. If you want to be away from city sounds and pollution, way out in the peace of the countryside among farms and mountain views — and if you are a person who enjoys the ruggedness of tent or A-frame cabin camping, then you will love Wawowow. Alvin has built this off-the-grid retreat himself, adding to it each year. He and his staff are caring and helpful. The well laid out grounds are covered in lawns and most if not all tents and cabins have small brick firepits. Alvin can provide the firewood for them. When I was there a number of people sat around these campfires at night singing and playing guitars. No sound amplification is allowed. Some people chose to stay on the grounds for several days. I used it as a jumping off place each morning to tour different parts of the Tomohon area each day., returning each evening.

The best part of Tangkoko Ranger Homestay is it's location - it's just opposite the entrance of the national park. You can't ask for a better location. The room itself was basic but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. Most importantly, Alfrets is super prompt when responding to questions and he booked all our treks into the national park. Super easy to deal with. Would recommend.

Todo perfecto para disfrutar de unos días de buceo sin tener que preocuparte por nada. El snorkel justo delante del alojamiento es de los mejores de la isla. Todo el staff es encantador y te ayudan en todo. Tienen motos para alquilar y salir a visitar la isla. Sin duda de vuelta a Bunaken, repetiremos en 3 Will.

Is the best stay I had in all my travels! - Owners can speak very good English and they are so helpfull - Food is amazing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good all days - the room was clean and with airco - they help you with boattransfer and transport - The owner took me with him to see dolphins. We saw like 100 dolphins. After that we stopped for two snorklingspots, wich were so beautiful - Homestay is at the beach, when you walk 200m in the water, you van snorkle very good (so many turtles and nice coral) - just an amazing place

Before coming I was worried I wouldn't get a chance to see a black macaque, however within five minutes of arriving there was one bouncing on the roof of my room! That's what happens agent the guesthouse is literally right next to the entrance of the park. The food was delicious, the guide was super helpful and informative, and the rooms were simple but clean, comfortable, and equipped with a quality AC. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
