It was enough to keep us going for the day. The location on the Mekong was stunning, with little refreshing breezes if we spent the afternoon. Mornings and evenings on the riverside were gorgeous. Best of all, staying on the property surrounded by the old Laotian homes was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It felt nostalgic and familiar, and unique at once. The homes were beautifully designed with ample modern bathrooms, too. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable about meeting our needs. The host is an exceptionally compassionate, interesting, and fun man.

The family dinner 3 times a week is a great way to meet fellow travelers, and the food is delicious. The space is clean, the location is convenient, and the beds are comfortable. They also help at a local orphanage, so it feels great supporting a business run by such beautiful people! This is the very best hostel I have ever stayed in!

La Casa de Jardin is a small but really cozy hostel close to the centre. Since the very beginning of my stay JP and his family made me feel like I was at home: from the breakfast every morning, free family dinners… I couldn’t ask for more!! I 100% recommend this hostel for those who aren’t looking for luxury, but for a place where you feel comfortable, are able to meet other travellers as well as the owners!

Nuestra habitación era espaciosa, limpia y tenía un balcón precioso donde podía disfrutar de mi café matutino mientras contemplaba el río. El personal era increíblemente amable y se desvivía por hacerme sentir bienvenido. Nos dieron excelentes recomendaciones sobre las atracciones locales e incluso nos ayudaron a organizar el transporte.
