Even before I arrived the host messaged me and helped me get the bus from Anuradhapura, then arranged a tuktuk when I missed the stop. A tasty dinner was provided even though the restaurant was closed due to Poya Day. Advice about safaris, then safari was booked at short notice. A packed breakfast was provided for the early start. I was planning on taking a train onwards to Mannar, but he called and checked and found out it was cancelled, then helped me with bus arrangements, and flagging it down. This place was a great base for Wilpattu safaris, affordable, clean, and a friendly family. And a beautiful sunset!

Gabaa is een prachtig, kleinschalig hotel. Wij raden het zonder twijfel aan. Het mooiste hotel waar we in Sri Lankan verbleven. De cabines zijn heel stijlvol en comfortabel ingericht. Heerlijk beddengoed. De buitenbadkamer is heel mooi en gerieflijk. Excellente douche. Het is zalig ontspannen in de tuin en aan het zwembad. Het personeel is bijzonder lief en attent. Het eten is lekker en niet overdreven duur. De tours die het hotel aanbiedt, zijn ook een aanrader.

Swan Lake Habarana is gelegen in Habarana, op 12 km van Pidurangala-rots, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Gastvrije ontvangst in een supernette, ruime kamers met comfortabele bedden en een verzorgde tuin. Ontbijt was heerlijk en de eigenaar heeft zelfs een taartje voorzien voor mijn dochters verjaardag! Behulpzame host die ons met plezier naar het centrum bracht indien nodig.

Wilpattu Wildhideaway ligt in Galkadawala, op 34 km van Kumbichchan Kulama Tank en 35 km van Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. I stayed at this accommodation for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The owner is very nice and gave me a lot of support in planning the journey to and from the hotel. He also planned the safari for me. This was a great experience as the guide had a lot of knowledge. Another highlight was the dinner. The room was perfectly fine for the two nights. The room was very clean. I can highly recommend this accommodation.

Oleena Home Stay bevindt zich in Habarana met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, roomservice, snackbar, tuin en terras. De homestay beschikt over zowel gratis WiFi als privéparkeren. Jeewa, Masha, and Oleena made our stay wonderful. Their homestay is lovely, jungle vibes. The room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious, and Masha's dinner is very tasty. Jeewaa was always giving us advice and helping us to decide what to do around. We went on a safari with a guide that he recommended, and apart from being cheaper than other places, the guide was also very knowledgeable and professional. We wanted to do some Ayurvedic spa treatments, and we found other places quite expensive, but Jeewaa recommended us a local Ayurvedic centre, and the place was half the price then other places and it was SO GOOD! Our kids had the best time, Oleena (the couples' daughter) was always so friendly and playing with our kids. Our kids ended up joining the neighbourhood kids' gang. We had the most wonderful stay if one day we come back to Sri Lanka, we would definitely go back to Oleena's homestay. Jeewaa, Masha and Oleena, thank you so much.

Rock Villa Relax City Resort ligt in Mihintale met uitzicht op de bergen en heeft een restaurant, een gedeelde keuken, bar, tuin, terras en speeltuin. Er is gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie. Rock Villa is in a superb location, walking distance to the temple, shops, and restaurants. Everything was perfect. Very clean rooms, bedding and towels. Hot water shower. We are travelling by bicycle, and these were securely locked in the garden. Our host provided us with water melon and a cold drink when we arrived and filtered water for our onward travel. He was also very informative of the local history.

Habarana Tree house Mutu village is gelegen in Habarana, op 11 km van Pidurangala-rots en heeft een tuin, een terras en uitzicht op het zwembad. We had the absolute best stay at Mutu Village. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the Pearl of The Jungle private tree house on the property. Sameera and his staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed 2 dinners and breakfast each morning- the food was absolutely wonderful… would highly recommend for this alone. Our treehouse was quiet and extremely comfortable. The open air bathroom was nice and clean. We would live at the Mutu village if we could!
