This is a wonderful spot. A bit difficult to reach over a very bumpy road (drove my own car) but it was worth the effort: Surrounded by forest covered Hills, bird calls and the soft gurgling of the pool, delicious meals with a wonderful view and friendly staff. Fantastic sunsets from the rock which is a short steep climb above the lodgings, I became more and more relaxed during the 3 days and nights of my stay. A wonderful opportunity to tune in to an almost pristine and peaceful Sri Lankan environment.

Clean modern rooms in beautiful surroundings with a lovely pool. This is the definition of a hidden gem. You simply must eat here in the evening, the food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and generous portions. We saw a wine store as we drove in ( less than 5 mins drive for those interested), when we asked about available drinks the manager offered to drive and get what we wanted. Breakfast was lovely and they even bought a fridge to our room for us to use. There are sun beds and tables and chairs in the grounds so we spent the evening sitting out watching the sun go down over the paddy fields, simply beautiful. If you are looking for somewhere fabulous to stay between Negombo and Sigiria. Look no further. You won’t find better.

First of all, the location was great. It is just right at the main road, but once you’ve reached your room you feel like you are in the jungle. The host did everything to make us feel at home. Chaminda even took us into the jungle for the full local experience. If you are lucky you can even spot wild elephants in the area!! Every meal felt carefully prepared and full of flavor. The hospitality was warm and genuine. @Mangala was very friendly, helpful, and always made sure we were comfortable. The atmosphere of the hotel was safe and peaceful, which made it a perfect place to relax and unwind. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone who enjoys a calm and quiet environment, with great service and delicious food in Kurunegala area. Would definitely come back!
