A wonderful environment, a beautiful garden, beautifully decorated and clean rooms, two pools, a kitchen, spacious rooms, and animals in the yard. The internet works well. An absolutely fantastic place to stay. We regret not staying longer. The city center is within walking distance, but there’s no need to drive to find something closer. Free parking is available in the yard.

The owner is very friendly and hospitable and helped us in every way possible. The place is itself is great with a good amount of space, common area, kitchen and rooftop. Everything is clean and works well (hot water, WiFi, etc). Bets place we stayed in Oman!

Misfah Heritage House, que cuenta con jardín, terraza y vistas a la montaña, se encuentra en Misfāh, a 49 km de Fuerte de Nizwa. One of the best things about Oman is how they have managed to make their heritage and tradition an intrinsic part of the tourist experience, and nowhere exemplified that better than Misfah Heritage House. The house and entire village have been lovingly restored and maintained, and the attention to detail and making things harmonious is something to behold. It is like a living museum, but the whole community have taken practical steps to make it work for them and visitors. Hamed takes the time to give the guests a hugely informative tour of the village once they arrive, and with his family being resident for generations, there is no better person. He and the rest of the staff live and breathe Misfah and their love of the village informs all decisions about how to share it. We didn't have time to explore the option, but they offer several touring experiences in the area to suit different interests and fitness levels. The room was comfortable serene and calm with the main concession to modernity being aircon, which was welcome! They also offer a dinner option, which was a very satisfying mix of warm and cold dishes in a great dining space that overlooks the date farm and looks across to the new village. Breakfast is served in the same space and it is equally charming in the morning. The village is easily explored from there and there are several wonderful walks in the vicinity. The chief draw however is still probably Hamed and the rest of staff who have a wealth of stories and advice. Their tourism approach is something that could be replicated through the rest of Oman, but maybe not their warmth and hospitality which is entirely their own.
