Restaurant is more expensive than average but worth it! Grilled calamary was sooo good we ate one everyday :) Special thanks to all the hardworking staff of the hotel, they were so accomodating, helpful without overwhelming us.

It is a small place decorated with taste, even the rooms, lots of local things around remind you where you are. The breakfast is incredible as they change every day so it doesn’t get boring ;-). The tables in wood are like local boats. What a great idea !!! The guest are really international and it’s easy to get in touch with other people. They have a dog and a cat but very brave and discreet. It’s very close to the beach, restaurants etc The staff is also top and they always smile. There’s no need to look for another place if you come to Nungwi: Babalao is where you should stay.

Loved the energy of the place, it is a tuktuk ride away from Paje which is the part of the island I prefer. The staff was super attentive and helpful. The room itself had the perfect video of the water. I totally recommend this spot, and when I asked for a late check out they agreed right away. There is a restaurant inside the hotel that has fresh food and a great breakfast!

They welcomed us with lovely flower arrangements up on our arrival, and local fruits. The room was clean and well kept. The place is quiet and relaxing. The food was great, everything fresh and a large choice. Now for the service, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We celebrated our wedding aniversary and they were very intentional in preparing our moment. Everything was so unexpected perfect, that I can’t describe in words. First of all hospitality - it was amazing, the management and owners of the hotel, the hotel’s staff - all those people made our stay in Zanzibar so lovely. Second thing - clean and tidy, towels are absolutely white, the bungalow was nicely organized and clean! My wife was in love with design. The territory is awesome, beautiful garden, so relaxing place. Location is very close to the Nungwi beach(5 minutes by walk), around you can find small supermarket, pharmacy, a lot of souvenir shops. And the food, couple of times we stayed for a launch and dinner, it’s was so so delicious! We kindly recommend this place to everyone! And we just dreaming to come back!

Anastasia and the entire team were simply wonderful – kind, professional, and always with a smile – and made us want to stay even longer. A dream vacation we would love to return to.
