The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Everything felt brand new and well thought out. We enjoyed making food on the gas cooker/bbq and sitting out on our private decking area in the evening. Our K’gairi tour had the option to pick us up from Debbie’s which was superb. There’s a shop, launderette and chip shop 1 min walk away. Great location. We loved our stay here. Highly recommend :)

Very clean and comfortable. Hugh shower. Nice and helpful receptionist. It is not in the center of town but the train station is 5 minutes walk away, the ride to town center is 50 cent and takes 10 minutes so you don't have to get there with your car and pay for parking. An amazing experience to stay at JW Marriott. The staff was very courteous and caring. Rooms were very nice and had great views. The best part was the breakfast at Citrique which has one of the most elaborate spreads that I had seen. Lots of options for vegetarian as well. And desserts that were quite delicious. The pool area is also very nice and cozy. Lots of lounging chair. They even have a large heated pool and a heated jacuzzi. Don't miss them if you are there.

We were meant to stay from 7-16 Mar, cyclone hit and we were able to move our bookings to 28 Mar-6 Apr. We had 7 rooms during our stay (5 for 8 nights and 2 for 3 nights), x4 2 bedroom superior apts, x2 2 bedroom apts and x1 bedroom apt We did request and pay for 2 rooms on the ground. Right up until the day before we arrived, reception was not able to confirm our room numbers. If I'd known how far our 2nd room was going to be and how difficult it was going to be for our mum to go up/down the stairs to and from room, we would've asked to move rooms. We checked in quite late to the resort, so by the time we got in our room, unpacked and relaxed after our international flight, we'd already made ourselves comfortable and used the towels, bathrooms etc; when checking in I did keep telling the receptionist that we had our mum but that didn't seem to factor in her allocating the room. It was our fault for staying in the room. She just took her time walking around the resort Our room was very spacious and the arrival pack (eggs, bread, milk etc;) kids activity pack, free drinks/kids club/mini golf vouchers were much appreciated😊 even the road works outside the resort, you couldn't hear any extra noise where our rooms were located. We appreciated the washing machine and dryer. The resort having trolleys for shopping trips was handy to have. Car parking was a breeze and placed well within your room allocation. The gym was used frequently, games room visited by the kids/teenagers and the cinema was a hit with the under 5's The pools were amazing! there was something for everyone in our group (1yo to 60yo) was nice having the spas beside the pools too If something was broken or you needed an extra blanket, reported it to reception/rung house keeping and it was dealt with immediately. A1 service TIP: bring mat/old towel to use as door mat to wipe up wet floors when raining

What a treat! If you are looking for a luxurious and comfortable retreat from the world, this is the place! Gorgeous location with beautiful surroundings. We loved the spa bath which we enjoyed whilst sipping our complimentary champagne, then slipping into the cozy bathrobes to snuggle on the sofa warmed by the log burner. Absolute heaven. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided, in fact we really didn't want to leave. We tried to book a second night, but unsurprisingly Treetops was booked out. But maybe best of all.... no internet!!! A true country escape, and we have recommended it to many friends already ❤️

Far Northern QLD is one of the most beautiful and eye opening parts of Australia. Cairns is a great hub for this region, which is sparse for cities, but the appeal of Cairns is not what is in the city, but what is surrounding the city. All the best attractions (waterfalls, the great barrier reef, the daintree rainforest, hikes, etc.) are all at least 20mins in any given direction, but there is very little public transport for these attractions in Cairns. This is I suppose how the tour companies make their money, but it means that a trip to Cairns without a car is impossible to explore self-guided, and becomes very expensive very quickly, because you need to book a tour for any given attraction. If possible, I’d 100% recommend coming to Cairns with a car. It’s a big drive no matter which state you’re coming from, but the journey up the coast is beautiful, and you will have so much more freedom on your trip with one. Cairns City itself is not good for much other than the lagoon, and the shopping. For a relaxing holiday, consider staying in the Northern Beaches, or Port Douglas.

Seeing Family and friends is always the highlight of our Townsville stay. We were in town to attend a funeral but enjoyed 2 free days either side of that just catching up with family. Particularly enjoyed the Castle Hill goat track walk. Not an easy walk, but you are rewarded with a wonderful view of Magnetic and other surrounding Islands.

We visited during the annual festival of flowers. Gardens are lovely. There's also interesting things to do for train enthusiasts. Plenty of shopping and dining options without the stampede of big cities. I was pleasantly surprized by the amount of green spaces and parks. Plenty of space to read a book, picnic or just walk through parks. Lovely museum and cafes to suite your needs

We only stayed the night as we were on our way home . We picked up Red Rooster Meal before checking into the Motel , so we didn’t need to leave the motel until next morning. There is something for everyone in Caloundra - from the upmarket Sunday street markets and the shops all in the main street (Bullock St0 to the Moffat Beach Brewery, the Air Museum, the miles of beaches, tracks to walk and the eateries. Our favorite restaurant was the Chinese Holiday Restaurant (108 Bulcock St) with same owners since 1982. The food was sumptuous and you get a decent plate full - value for money *****.
