Chose to stay in San Pedro for the established dive shops, and probably will still prefer this to dive shops in Caye Caulker. Staff was super friendly and helpful, very responsive on texts. The room was amazingly HUGE for the price and comes super well equipped! Living room, small kitchen and separate bedroom, it was really lovely. Just a 3 mins walk to the beach, so pick up via one of the nearby jetty is convenient too if you were to go with dive shops further up the beach.

Nice place just by the coast, comfortably outside of the sometimes manic golf cart dreadlock of the town center. The walk on the beach side to dead center is about 15ish minutes, 10ish to the first restaurants. Has a good chilling area outside with a palapa, chairs and hammocks. Thw staff is lovely and helped us with snorkeling tours and golf cart rental. The room was roomy with two beds and a desk + a minifridge. There are good breakfast options a few blocks walk toward the town and a nice coffee stand within premises which opens a bit later in the morning for people who don't usually wake up at 6am like us.The beach bar outside is far enough away that there is no sound pollution from there coming to the rooms (at least to the Casa Blanca building where we were). Decent internet for an island location: 26.90MB/s down, 25.17MB/s up, with 44ms latency.

The breakfast (food in general) was hot and fresh! The staff was so accommodating and welcoming! My friend lost her phone on the last day after checkout and the villa staff went above and beyond to help locate the phone! The owner personally inquired about the situation as well. They called, sent updates and was able to send the phone back to us in record time! Love this peaceful place and tasty food & drinks. I will be back again! Much love to my belizean family there after my week stay lol

The quality of the meals was very high and the quantities were more than adequate at times. The room was very quiet especially considering the resort is located on a relatively busy road and very close to the local airport The location was very close to local stores to buy snacks, drinks including wine all within a couple of minutes walk. It was also very close to the local gym, again a short walk. The site had its own diving and fishing facilities. The staff were all very friendly.

Our experience was truly amazing. The staff was really welcoming, gave us a whole tour of the property. The recommended amazing tours (the fishing and snorkeling one and we get to see manatees!!) We enjoyed that 3 different pools were accessible. The restaurant is delicious and they served the best piña coloda ever (with fresh piñas)

Caye Caulker is an amazing place to experience the 'Go Slow' way of life! We enjoyed 4 nights there with our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teen boys), went spearfishing, swam with nurse sharks and sting rays, fed tarpon, waded with sting rays, hung out at The Split, and enjoyed amazing Belizean food all over the island. You can sleep in and go to bed early, and still not miss a thing. :)

Crooked Tree is very small with rather rutted dirt roads but that is part of its charm. We loved eating at Carries Cafe which is only open Wed. -Sun and consists of a kitchen located in a garage with one table. The food was great. Ya GOTTA LOVE the tropical weather, you can't beat the longest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere, and that's the best diving I've experienced in several decades. This was my first visit to Ambergris Caye, & San Pedro - what was initially surprising to me very quickly became one of my favorite things about the location. Many oceanview beachfront houses are not resorts, isolated from local residents. You are right in the mix with neighbors: locals going about their daily business (non-tourist and tourist alike), schoolkids walking by, deliveries, construction happening, etc. I enjoy living like a local (sorta), although some folks might not. San Pedro beaches skew commercial/industrial: numerous docks; dock-restaurants; beach cafe; van, taxi and golf-cart traffic on the beach; sand parking lots; powerlines; & sargasso weed extending out up to 50 yds out from shore - it takes a moment to get used to, this ain't Zona Hotel in Cancun. Many hotels & resorts loom over off-beach buildings behind it, which mostly are the typical tropical unfinished, mildewy concrete buildings with rusty rebar poking out, lots of laundry lines, and rusted car parts and tools in the yard. I found this familiar and charming but some may not.

Nice little island near Belize City, with many hotels and resorts, many good restaurants serving fresh seafood, especially Conch.and fish... I love the restaurant Celebrity it's close to the Belize Museum on Regent street which was a former prison. The food is excellent. It's very easy to get around Belize city by taxi. We paid a taxi 10 BZ dollars to take us from the bus terminal to the Museum that's about 5 US. I called the chauffeur later on in the afternoon to take us to town and we were dropped at the park in the center of town. We walked around the park and sat on a chair under a tree, we visited the inner stores on Albert street. What I like about Belize, there are restrooms every where and the people are friendly. You can ask them anything they will help you out. We walked on the market on Saturday, got some hot bread by the bakery and coffee next door. I loved Altun Ha. Our guide was arranged by the guesthouse Casa de Shangri-La.

Birdwatching is nice at the lagoon but overall, we were a bit disappointed. Crooked Tree is supposed to be one of the hotspots for bird watchers, we saw a greater variety of birds in all the other places we stayed in Belize. We found Crooked Tree a bit depressing. There are no shops, no restaurants, only dirt roads and other than the lagoon, nothing to see or do. It's not a beautiful place. It's not worth staying more than two days.
