The host and the housekeeper were incredibly informative. The house keeper communicated through translation but her warmth and friendliness needed no translation and we were looked after incredibly well. Between them, they organised all our transport, advised us on the best places to visit and the housekeeper cooked us the most delicious breakfast which fortified us to do a 2.5 hour hike on the Great Wall of China. I would stay here every time if I was wanting to visit the wall and even just as a beautiful place to relax.

Such a lovely family running this guesthouse. This is my second time staying with them. I try to come back to Jingshaling every year in the fall (it is glorious ). The place is fantastic. They organize my transport from the airport for a very honest price. The food is SO MUCH and SO GOOD. XIE XIE to the lady that runs the place. If you want authentic countryside Chinese experience, this is the place.

Really good atmosphere at the hostel, its also very clean and the quality of the hostel here is much better than Beijing. They were very helpful with giving routes for the wall, and were quick to respond when we got lost and asked for the way. The dinner though vegetarian was really good, and plenty enough.

I really enjoyed my time here. The place is within walking distance to the cable car station (around 700 metres). So don't bother to book shuttle bus tickets to the great wall. In fact, the host can book all the necessary great wall tickets for you at the standard price if you let him know in advance. The host also provided us with breakfast and dinner at no additional charge. The host used to be in the eatery business. So the food provided taste really great. You can also arrange for the host to pick you up from the airport and to your next destination at a reasonable fee close to taxi rates. The Great Wall was the first place I visited when I landed in Beijing. I had already booked all the tickets in my itinerary beforehand. If I hadn't done that, I would have taken up the host's offer to take us to the Ming Tombs. I am pretty sure the charges would have been quite reasonable as well. Overall, my stay here was really great value for money.
