The rooms are large, cool and airy, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The hotel has 3 pools, a sky bar with music, food a good bar and fantastic views. The restaurant has really good choice of good food that is served in generous portions, breakfast is very good too. We booked for bed and breakfast only but the meals were very good value. Guachaca was a nice tiny village to stay in with proximity to both Buritaca and Costeño beaches and Tayrona park. It's easy to catch the bus to take you along the main road to these other towns and some hikes. Trash is a noticeable issue in Taganga, Santa Marta, and the surrounding areas, which could use more attention. In general, the online description of the trail is not accurate. You are crossing a mountain range.... steep ups and downs followed by a steep down to the resort. Cianaga seems to have a beautiful location near the beach and with views of the mountains. We went to a great restaurant called El Turisto Sadly, The city is very, very dirty with trash everywhere. Our time in Santa Marta/Rodadero/Minca was nice, although we did not get the full experience of "where the mountain meet the sea" that we were expecting. We did not take a day trip to the national park because yellow fever vaccinations were required for entry. The beaches in the area are okay, though not outstanding. For those wanting to hike the Tayrona trail, this resort is close by the entrance of the park, and it is a blessing to have this place nearby after hours of walking in the heat. I had a deep tissue massage after my walk and it was divine. My room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast here is delicious and very generous. Highly recommend.Guest review byCyril SCanada
