Everyone was very polite and helpful: receptionist, cleaning ladies, restaurant hosts and waitresses, animation team. I'd rate staff 11 out of 10. Rooms were nice and clean, beautiful view on the pool/sea side. Cleaning happened every day, consistent and at the same time (after breakfast and before the lunch). Beds were quite comfortable. Air-conditioning actually responded to the control panel and we were able to set proper temperature. Food was good and diverse, there were typical continental breakfast dishes as well as local specialties. Animation team was very entertaining, a lot of people including myself were engaging in different activities like water polo and volleyball. Mini disco for kids in the evening and games and drawing during the day. Hotel has direct access to a beautiful beach with sunbeds and stuff, so we were always able to choose if we want the pool or the sea. All in all, great experience. It's a nice place, the people are very friendly, the bars offer Cypriot breakfast, which is worth having. There are not too many tourists in September, so it is pleasant to walk around the city. As for Larnaca itself, it’s a lovely city with a relaxed atmosphere. There aren’t too many hotels – most accommodation options are apartments, which I personally see as a big plus. It's a very safe and friendly city. It is easy to get around and residents are even kind enough to offer you a ride in case you get lost and no taxis in sight. Despite the language barrier, most people at least try to speak English. The food variety is actually limited with most cafés offering fast food which is not a fave. Polis is a nice place to spend a couple of days. There are some good restaurants and bars in the center of the town, serving nice traditional dishes in good prices. Nearby Latsi beach is well organised, offering all the amenities someone can expect (lifeguard, changing rooms, toilets). Platres is one of my favourite mountain villages in Cyprus. it has a lovely vibe and many restaurants and cafes to choose from. I recommend Pendeli Hotel for a luxurious stay or forest park if looking for a very budget friendly stay. Petit Palais is one of the oldest hotels in the square and is loved by locals and tourists. EnPlatron is one of my favourite Taverns offering great traditional dishes and live music on weekends. Kaledonia Tavern is also a favourite local tavern so make sure to give it a try Cleopatra Bistro is a favourite for modern dining and deserts and beverages.
