It was very relaxing staying there and we almost didn't care about visiting the city nearby. The breakfast restaurant was very pretty, both indoors and outdoors and the stuff was very helpful. The food in the breakfast had a large variety from raw salads and cooked vegetables up to pancakes and waffles for the kids. We did not miss anything from the breakfast and we were very satisfied with both the quality and taste of the food. The room service also had very tasty food with several options and the price was like one of the restaurants inside the hotel. There were a couple of bars with very nice drinks and snacks and the main bar of the hotel offered as well and option of sushi. The room was very spacious and well kept. There was no damages or issues with the room and it was been cleaned and taken care of twice a day. Finally the hotel had all the required facilities, but unfortunately some of the facilities for the children were still closed, for example the outdoor pool with the slides. At the same time there was an outdoor pool, heated, available for both adults only as well as adults and kids. The playroom for the kids was a big plus as well as some performances that took place every second day, like fireworks show and a magician.Guest review byEleniDenmark

Platres is one of my favourite mountain villages in Cyprus. it has a lovely vibe and many restaurants and cafes to choose from. I recommend Pendeli Hotel for a luxurious stay or forest park if looking for a very budget friendly stay. Petit Palais is one of the oldest hotels in the square and is loved by locals and tourists. EnPlatron is one of my favourite Taverns offering great traditional dishes and live music on weekends. Kaledonia Tavern is also a favourite local tavern so make sure to give it a try Cleopatra Bistro is a favourite for modern dining and deserts and beverages. So amazing to still be able to find genuinely authentic remote villages without them being so commercialised. I felt like I had travelled to a completely different world. We love Omodos as a stay over place ie one night. The village is beautiful with a lot of history. In my opinion it’s one of the nicest villages in Cyprus. Full of history too with a small free museum that is extremely interesting. The village is small so you can walk around it in a very short time and it’s so beautiful you really should walk around. For night life, most restaurants and the bakers close around 6.30pm ish. There are a couple of places that open til midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Potamitissa itself doesn’t have things to do. However, villages such as Pelendri, Agros, Kyperounta are near by and have plenty of things to do.
