The Old Town was nice with some lovely old buildings.
The Old Town was nice with some lovely old buildings. The atmosphere in the old market square was great with the fruit and vege stalls. Jazz cafe there was excellent. The Špilberk castle towered over the town and was interesting to visit, although the interiors were not much to see. We visited the interesting ‘10-Z bunker’ which was a nuclear bunker during the Cold War. Also enjoyed visiting the Mendel Museum, if you have any interest in science and genetics.Guest review byJanAustralia - 10.0

Such a pretty old town centre with a square surrounded by lovely buildings. It was full of cafes and shops. Then the large castle loomed over the town from its hilltop position. You can walk through the castle gardens and along the path around the castle to admire it. From there the views over the town and across the countryside were stunning. It is a great old town with plenty of things to see, especially if you are into historical sightseeing and lovely nature/surroundings. Just make sure that you come at the right time. Lednice is an easy place to get to. Hey have great accommodations throughout the city. So many things to see and do as within the area. We loved venturing out on our adventures to see other parts of the country. It is very a beautiful area! People are very accommodating and helpful. This place has wonderful personal. Interested in people’s needs. They have nice and secure parking lot behind a fence. We stayed with a dog there and it was not a problem. They actually have a nice and big garden where our dog could play. It’s also suitable for families with children as they have playground equipment and a big trampoline. I did not like that there is no TV in the room. Only one for everyone in the kitchen. In other hotels it’s kind of regular room equipment. Mikulov is a lovely little town close to Austrian border.
Mikulov is a lovely little town close to Austrian border. It is famous for its vineyards and wine tasting facilities. You should definitely walk up to the Mikulov castle and Sv Kopecek hill. The town was just the right size for a three day visit. We had our dog with us so no museums or galleries were on our list but we were welcome everywhere else. We'd highly recommend Víno Kára (only food available are meat and cheese plates) and Winebar Chatka for their wines (but not for food at all).Guest review byMikeCzech Republic
