The first thing I noticed upon arriving in Ingolstadt is the cleanliness of the area from the moment I stepped off the train. I had travelled from Cologne through Berlin, Dresden and Nurnberg, stopping a view nights in each place, and Ingolstadt was the best ‘first impression’ of a city I experienced. This continued throughout the 3 days I spent there. The train station is located in a leafy area next to a beautiful park and surrounded by 3 churches. The city has numerous walkways and cycle routes alongside the river and through beautiful gardens. The city is extremely peaceful and had beautiful architecture and many historic buildings and sights. You will find good coffee shops and some of the best traditional food dishes in Germany. The old part of Vohburg is attractive and directly on the Donau and the Donauradweg. There are several hotels directly in the old town, and also several very acceptable restaurants. No reception after 18:30.Breakfast no value for money. Parking does not open until you checkin, ridiculous so where do you leave your car when you arrive? Luckily I found a spot in the street and save the parking. Invoice for the company can be trouble and checkout a nightmare they have a bad system they do not get the info from booking they say. I come from Germany but it was my first trip into Bavaria region. After visiting Pfaffenhofen I fell in love with its small town magic. What makes it better is the fact its literaly throw a stone away from Munich and Ingolstadt.
