The seating areas were amazing, from the terrace on the water to the large comfortable sitting rooms inside. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The Hotel has beautiful furnishings and artwork throughout. We enjoyed breakfast and the four course meal in the evening. The food was spectacular. We reserved appts at the Spa and was really pleased with the staff there. Plenty to see in the area..all just a short drive away. Great space to experience. Specifically, Gutenberg Museum is excellent. You can take Köln or Frankfurt airplane, then take the train to arrive Mainz. Mainz is full of lots of public spaces, cafes, restaurants, etc.Guest review byYavuz - 10

Altstadt and Deutsche Ecke, cable cart over the Rhine to castle, Altes Brauhaus. Options to make Rhine/Mosel cruise (from 1-3 hrs). Many nice restaurants and (whine)bars. Live music in cafe Hahn, Irish pub and some other locations (check locally). Good public transport (for e.g. to go to cafe Hahn or to Oktoberfest). Pitty that renting a simple bike is not so easy (not so many options, no guided bike tours offered, renting a bike is usually an electric bike, not cheap). If you want to make a bike tour, bring bike yourself. Also usefull to use instead of local transportation. Although a brief visit we were in Speyer to specifically visit the Technik Museum both there and in Sinsheim about a 45 minute drive away. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to these museums, something there for all ages and very family friendly. We walked the route - Rotweinwanderweg -it was spectacular and we had lovely lunch at Marienthal. Make sure where to catch the bus back. If you have business in Mannheim, I would recommend not staying in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Sure they are only separated by the Rhein river but things could have been much easier in my case if I had found property in Mannheim. The Achat Hotel is awesome in every way, the location is just 2 minutes walk from the train station and the bus station. You have almost everything around, shops, restaurants, church, post office, etc. The staff are fantastic, they speak English and patiently listen to their clients, they give you all information you request for to visit the village. I highly recommend this hotel, it is also very neat. I will suggest that they should add electric kettle and coffee mugs in the rooms though I think I was told that there was a coffee machine somewhere but I didn't search for it, I prefer having tea or coffee in my room whenever I want without going out to get some.
