Modern, tastefully decorated property with stylish touches that reflect the city’s history. Beautiful courtyard created from an original patio. The quality of the staff, rooms, amenities and design was definitely of a 5 star hotel, not 4 star. The bed, the sheets, the lightning, all was beautiful. Also the hallways were pretty. I got a room with a beautiful view over the square. Central location. Wish I could have stayed longer!

FAQs about hotels in Andalucía

Pulsating with History and Tradition

Resounding with flamenco, the fabulous Spanish region of Andalusia (or Andalucía) has world-class attractions, wonderful scenery and welcoming beaches.

Some of the best Andalusia hotels are in Costa del Sol resorts including Nerja and glitzy Marbella, neighbour of exclusive Puerto Banús. Nearby is Málaga, Picasso’s city with relics of its Roman past.

Moorish influences have also left magnificent marks. Formerly a mosque, the incredible Córdoba Mezquita is now a cathedral. Against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Alhambra is a former sultans’ residence looking down on lovely Granada, home to some romantic Andalucia hotels and apartments on Booking.com.

You can ski in the Sierra Nevada, and also in mountains by Aracena north of Seville, the region’s sun-drenched capital with a gigantic Gothic cathedral and amazing architecture in Plaza de España. It also has a ring where controversial bullfighting occurs.

Its nearest beaches are on the Costa de la Luz, between Isla Canela (by Portugal) and Tarifa. Nearby is Algeciras, across the bay from Gibraltar. Other popular Andalusia beaches are in Costa de Almería resorts including Roquetas de Mar and Mojacar.

Inland, on a steep escarpment, Arcos de la Frontera, is one of the White Villages of Andalusia. Nearby is Jerez, home of sherry. To the east is Ronda with its high bridge spanning a deep gorge.

We were probably very lucky that our pre-booked mobile house in different camping of this area got cancelled (maybe due to the storm it had passed 2 nights before we arrived, maybe due to the off-season laziness). We had arranged a ground floor apartement in this camping quickly instead. It shown up as a great descision. Everything went smooth, the place was clean, just our size for 2 with 2 kids. The restaurant was closed that night and next morning, but we arrived with some food which we just prepared in the kitchen easily. We didn’t expected more, even there were some shops opened around anyway. It might be little tricky with hot water for those who are not fully friendly with gas bottles, i didn’t find it as a problem but I’m sure the personnel would had been helpful.

The hotel is in a very good location. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast and dinner buffet were fantastic, as well was the staff working there. We want to give special thanks to Palermo, Susana, Germán, Lenaz and Isa Vazquez . They were very gentle and sympathetic, always with a big smile. The swimming pool and the garden are amazing. The access to the beach is very useful. In general was all very very good. All the staff was very nice and helpful...reception, housekeeping, bar, restaurant, spa. Thank you all and see you soon.

Nice place, clean, near the beach, beautiful sunset. We could park in the parking hotel (10 euros), but we parked on a street beside the hotel fence, which was free. We preferred the beach instead of the pool. Large beach, just a few people, nice water, beautiful rocks and pictures.

Front door was not closing and I informed the manager but instead of acknowledge the issue she made vague excuses. Apartment door was defected for 2 days we struggle open it and then the maid provided a key. Strong order of sewage in the apartment but after two days of keeping the all of the doors and windows the smell subdued and we had one day of no order. Exhaust fan inoperable, stove top controls faulty. Washer and dryer malufuctioned causing loss of time to enjoy the city.

We visited Malaga for the marathon weekend in December and the city was very festive - with an excellent light show on Calle Larios. There was plenty of availability in restaurants and theatre shows and the atmosphere was very friendly. And with the run on the Sunday morning attracting 20,000 participants on closed roads it was very well organised and supported.

After an early flight into Granada, we were fortunately to catch the airport bus to city centre. We joined a free walking tour right away. We were given lots of historical information about the city, the Alhambra and the Albaicin neighbourhood. On our second day, we had a private tour of the Alhambra. The Nasrid Palace was under renovations and many rooms were closed. This part of the palace was not worth the cost. On our third day, we joined a small group tour into Sierra Nevada. The scenery was spectacular. We mostly ate tapas at various restaurants. I particularly liked the Moroccan food, especially Las Palmers restaurant.

Often missed by tourists who flock instead to Sevilla and Granada, Córdoba is definitely worth at least a 2-night stay. It feels more Spanish somehow. The Mezquita (mosque cathedral) is so unique and beautiful, and rivals most historic buildings we have seen in 30+ years of international travel! If you stay in the old quarter, it is easy to walk to most sites, restaurants, shops, plazas, and the river.

Beautiful city but the old town is perfect for sightseeing,...

Beautiful city but the old town is perfect for sightseeing, walking around the cobbled streets and enjoying traditional sherry tasting and tapas. I would highly recommend the Tabanco El Pasaje bar. It is very small and quirky with a very warm welcome with fantastic authentic flamenco every day - do not miss this. I would also recommend Las Banderillas for an authentic Spanish bar with a warm welcome for sherry and tapas. Unfortunatley, I would not recommend La kastiza. We went to eat on a weekend night, we found a table outside - yes it was exceptionally busy but numerous Spanish customers were seated after us and they were served before us so we decided to leave and eat elswhere. The dancing horses at the equestrian school were breathtaking. A good few hours walking around the house, museum, stables where you can interact with some of the horses and of course the show! Tio Pepe is another must, fantastic guide and you learn a lot about the history of Tio Pepe and how they make the different flavours. The autograph museum is brilliant & the shop prices are actually really good value. If you want to hire a motorbike or moped, I would highly recommend GCBIKERENTAL - very modern bikes at a reasonable price and the owners are very nice and helpful. It is only approximately a 20 minute drive from Jerez airport to the old town and to the Circuito de Jerez from the old town it is also only approximately 20 minutes. If you like culture, tapas, sherry and winter sun - this is the place to visit.

Marbella was very nice apart from the weather ofcourse due to the time of year , the people were friendly and the Xmas decorations were fantastic unlike puerto banus which looked shut with the amount of bars that were closed and virtually no sign of any Christmas activity, the tapas bars and restaurants in Marbella were very cosywith the outside heaters on and the atmosphere was first class I would enjoy both Marbella and puerto banus in the spring/summer period but in December there is only one winner and that was Marbella

It depends on when you go.

It depends on when you go. Town and surrounding area can be overrun with people. The last trip was in November and the weather for me was great, there were few crowds and everyone was much more calm. The town is a great central spot for seeing the area and you can do day trips to Malaga without much problem. The town itself has lots to offer if you hunt around there are some great places to eat and interesting sites to see. Walking is pretty easy but there are some uneven streets and hills. Nearby the Cueva de la Pileta was an interesting side trip as was The Cueva del Gato. The White Villages are all fun to explore. Meson Duquesa was a great spot for tapas on a sunny afternoon

Great beaches and we did plenty of snorkelling. Lovely long promenade so you could walk as much or as little as you wanted. Some areas were lively and others more quiet so there is something for everyone. Great variety of restaurants and entertainment for different budgets. Train line is fantastic value for money. There is also a ferry to Benalmadena and we also took a bus to Marbella so very accessible for other resorts. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.
